Abstract Noun and Concrete Noun:
Abstract Noun:
When we say that A "Noun" is a name of a person, place or a thing. that "thing" can be something that is not concrete mean that not physically present it can be any thing that is intangible for example, an idea، feeling, emotion.
Examples:
"I Love My Kid."
in this sentence "Love" is an abstract noun,
"She was very angry with me."
in this sentence "Angry" is an abstract noun.
with the examples mentioned above it is concluded that "Abstract Noun" is a type of noun which we can not feel with our five senses.
A concrete noun is a noun which s tangible and exists physically.
For example:
"Please some one pick up the phone"
In the sentence written above "Phone" is a concrete noun as it exists physically we can touch it see it. let's see another sentence.
"I can hear a weird voice'
If we see sentence written above "voice" is a noun in it. but we can neither see it nor touch it then what kind of noun is this. yes this is still a concrete noun because we can hear it.
Let's explore few more sentences.
"I can feel a pleasant fragrance"
Can you find the noun ?
Yes you are right "Fragrance" is noun in this sentence . now tell me that either it is abstract or concrete noun as we can not see or touch the fragrance.
yes you are getting it now "Fragrance" is a concrete noun because we can smell it.
by all the discussion above we conclude that concrete noun is a noun that we can fell with our five senses like we can see it, touch it, smell it, hear it or feel it.
